Hello,
As can be seen through tickets #3087607 and #3087599, I cannot do anything sensible on my main account nletwory (dio), since the failure of the server.
It has been over 2,5 days now that I notified your support team about this, and nothing has been done - not even a message about any potential actions.
I really do need my sites back - in the very least the permissions so that I can actually use my sites again. Put up some temporary pages to notify my visitors about what has happened and what they can expect in the future.
I just now tried, this is what I get in my home directory:
nletwory@dio:~$ touch help touch: cannot touch `help': Permission denied nletwory@dio:~$ date Wed May 6 14:10:25 PDT 2009
Indeed, about everything is root.root in there.
As you may recall (through support history), I had already a unfortunate accident with the ps mysql server I have added to my account. Apparently there backups were not properly configured. I expected you to have ensured proper backup for that from then on. Maybe I assumed wrongly that you would've checked backups for the entire account as well, but I guess that was my mistake - at least another misconfiguration that has resulted in proper nullage of quite some material.
I hope to hear (very) soon from you, preferably with news about prompt actions that allow me to use your service again as intended.
I understand that the debacle may have resulted in hugely increased workload on your side, but I find it out of the order that urgent support requests go without any human interaction for so long.
Thank you for reading.
(Very) Carefully optimistic,
/Nathan Letwory
